NATURE SUN CATCHER

The students will be using items found in nature to create an abstract sun catcher art piece using different leaves, flower petals, and many other foliage materials. When creating this piece your child will be learning about how plants/flowers/trees get all their colors and textures, the importance of our national forests and parks, along with learning a little about the animals and how they help our ecosystem!

HIKING STICK

With this activity, our goal is to help fine tune hand-eye coordination and motor skills. During the craft and even after our camp is complete! While also exploring different shapes, textures, and colors that will be available for them to embellish their walking sticks. While constructing their sticks, the students will be learning about the origin of walking sticks, how staying active and moving their body is important, and not to mention all the creatures and plants you can see on a casual walk around their own neighborhood.

WOODLAND CANVAS PAINTING AND MIXED MEDIA

The art of mixed media gives flexibility for students to work with many different materials on one piece. Letting your child explore the options of what can be used to add to their beautiful forest scene to take home and display! They will have the chance to let their creative juices flow by creating either a collage or a landscape. The idea behind this piece is to first teach the students how to construct a canvas painting, and then give your child the freedom to just create with an array of supplies at their fingertips while learning art of mixed media!
